The Town Scryer is a mixed bag of humor, socio-political observations and ephemera from the perspective of a eclectic Pagan veteran of the counter-culture.

Through a Glass, Darkly

About a month ago there was a great kerfuffle over a segment that CNN ran in which they asked various psychics for their predictions on the economy.

Mediaite even went so far as to state that "This might be the most mind-bogglingly idiotic thing I have ever seen on cable news, and I say that having seen a lot of idiotic things on cable news."

     Really?

They must have missed five years of Glen Beck.

Putting Fox News aside for the moment, I am willing to bet good money that a dozen psychics picked at random can do better at predicting the future of our economy that the people that have been telling us for thirty years that if we give the rich people and the big corporations big tax breaks this time it will create jobs and stimulate the economy.

Even random chance produces  a better result than zero.

    Be seeing you.
